For the 5th time, the Austrian Professional Association organizes the symposium Who or what heals? In Vienna from June 3 to 5. Participants from all Reiki traditions are welcome. I am honoured to be invited to give a talk on ‘The Beauty and Simplicity of Reiki’. This event is in German.
The mood to celebrate is affected by the war, yes. Nevertheless, Reiki will be 100 years old: Mikao’s Reiki beginning was in 1922. Mischa and I became Reiki teachers in November 1992. We will then quietly celebrate this 30th anniversary together in the fall.
With the talk show RTalk I introduce diverse Reiki personalities from all over the world and discuss different and sometimes controversial topics. Just last Friday I published a talk with Bhante Sukhacitto, whom many of you know.

The topic of ‘bypassing’ that was brought up in that conversation is something most people have probably encountered. Who hasn’t preferred to be rewarded for work done with something pleasant first, instead of facing the challenge that is yet to come?
Recently I gave a seminar in Berlin and had four(!) generations of the same family with me. Of course, the three-month-old baby did not participate in the sense of reflectively absorbing what was said. It was ‘only’ initiated. Only’ is good, since in Reiki everything revolves around the gift of initiation. What does this anecdote of the four generations tell us?
The beauty of Reiki is its simplicity.
Perhaps the presence of the little girl reminds us how childlike the practice of Reiki is, for the bébé has as much reiki ‘power’ in her little hands as an adult (and – importantly! – as a Reiki 2 graduate or Reiki Master). Continue reading “New Era for Reiki?”
What should I write about when terrible things are happening in the world? Yes, you can say there is always war somewhere. But now it is very close. We all feel the effects on different levels. Helplessness and fear are paralyzing for many. What can we do about it?
We just had a visit from a Reiki 2 student who started with Reiki 13 years ago. It was a very nice meeting. She told us about beautiful experiences, full of enthusiasm. Also suggestions where we still have to go to spread Reiki even more. And that is our task. And yes, we are willing to travel, very much so. But we have also explained that it is not just a matter of choosing a place where we would like to go. The impulse comes from outside. The place brings us to itself, so to speak. I am a committed pacifist. Easily said but what if your life, your family’s life is under threat? An attempt to answer this question could quickly result in lofty preaching. The current situation in Eastern Europe deserves the very opposite.
In many circles there are initiatives aiming for peace. It is impressive that their love and prayers are equally aimed at the people in Russia and the people in Ukraine and include their nations’ leaders. Rightly so. A friend of mine, for example, posted the photo of two lovers wrapped in their nation’s flags on Facebook. Continue reading “Peace”
New Year’s Eve. Mischa and the neighbor’s boy are preparing Sushi in the kitchen. We’re about to go celebrate with his parents.
This morning I was lying in the bathtub and heard Mischa singing in the background. In a trash TV show, she had seen a stuffed animal unicorn that, when you press on its belly, says “I love you”. Continue reading “Love prevails”
I’m sitting under our pergola, it’s noon and quiet. Just very, very quiet.
We have had our little house on this small island for 33 years. Although I feel very much at home in cities, although we have lived on three different continents, every year I long for the summer here, and this peace. Continue reading “Starry skies are everywhere”
… differently than expected. Mischa has already cancelled the biscuit baking. (…!…) Instead, there is a wonderful celebration for you on 21 December! Yes, you out there anywhere in the world. Yes, we mean exactly you! Continue reading “Christmas turns out …”
