If you would like to see moving pictures: Here is an impressive short film (two minutes) about the water situation on Sikinos. All the people portrayed are old acquaintances of ours, some since childhood and one is even a Reiki student … smile.
In 2022, Sikinos was awarded the European Heritage Prize for the restoration of ‘Episkopie’, an ancient Roman mausoleum, untouched at the other end of the island and the destination of many of our hikes. At the official ceremony, our mayor declared this monument to be “the Acropolis of the Cyclades”. Here is the official short film (50 seconds).
Here is a two-hour film from the perspective of a tourist; one could criticize the length of the film, but it is a inquisitive look into many nooks and crannies of Sikinos and for this very reason it offers a lot to explore Sikinos. The description on YouTube (below the video) is very helpful in navigating through the film. We live in Pano Chorio at 1:36:49.
