Born an only child in 1953 and raised in Switzerland, I, too, felt drawn to go abroad and explore the world. I went to England immediately after finishing my commercial apprenticeship for further education.
At the age of 21 I crossed half the globe on a motor bike, taking 1 1/2 years. After that I pursued a career in commodity trade which took me to many countries in eastern Europe, Africa and Asia. I married Mischa Vögtli-Egloff in 1980.
In 1989, still living in Hongkong, I changed my career and became independent, working in the art-trading business and getting into the environmentally friendly products market. In March 1991 I found Reiki. A time of transformation began. Since 1993 I am a full-time Reiki professional in partnership with my wife.
Our two sons were born in Asia in 1985 and ’86. Today they live and work in Berlin and in Zurich. In 2013 we were blessed with a grandson.
From 1996 to 2002 I served in the committee of the international association for Reiki Teachers The Reiki NETWORK. At the end of 2010 my wife Mischa and I together with two partners founded RIO – Reiki International Organisation, which I led until until its closure in 2017. I am co-founder and member of the council of ProReiki since its start 2009. Together with a group of presidents of national inclusive associations we founded the European Reiki Group ERG in 2018.
Of myself I would like to think that I am passionate and have the ability to see big pictures. The most important thing in my life is: “To go to heaven!” (chuckle…). I am the author of „Weltverbesserer“ (a German Reiki novel). In my Life-Management seminars I teach “7-steps” to resolve rigid believe-systems.
Forgiving, reconciliation is a matter close to my heart. In this video (12:40 minutes, January 2017) I talk about it and explain why I initiated the project reiki-conciliation. Since 2020 I am the host of the talk-show RTalk.
Reiki is free from conviction and belief, neither sect nor religion, effective for humans, animals and plants.
To me, Reiki is: “Indescribable, thank God.”
I teach Reiki because: “It is my privilege to make my calling my profession.”
The most important thing about Reiki is: “The self responsibility.”
What I like best about Reiki: “That it can’t be influenced.”
