Surgery esophagus and stomach

Period: 05.10.2014 - 24.11.2014
Protocol entries: 6
Area(s): Abdomen / Stomach / Intestine, Cancer, Chemotherapy, Neurology, Operation

In June, J. was already accompanied by us through the difficult time of the diagnosis (esophageal cancer) and the beginning of his chemotherapy.

The chemo lasted 9 weeks. Now follows the operation of the esophagus and stomach on October 6 at Henriettenstift, Hanover. This is followed by 3-4 weeks in the hospital, followed by 3 x 3 weeks of chemo again; the latter hopefully on an outpatient basis.

    In artificial sleep

    J.’s wife called my house:

“It was a major surgery. The esophagus was removed, among other things. Part of the surgery involves the airway (trachea). J. also had to go on dialysis. He will be kept in an artificial sleep until probably Friday/Saturday.”

The wife is very much with herself and makes a good and stable impression on me.

    Steadily upwards

J.’s wife just called to report:

“J. is still in artificial sleep, but yesterday the breathing tube was removed and he is now breathing on his own with oxygen mask. Clearly, the surgery went well and he’s no longer in that critical situation where you didn’t know which side it was going to tip.”

The wife again appeared very well with herself, strong and with healthy confidence knowing that there is still a long way to go.

Thanks for the help and let’s support J well until Sunday.

    All love,
    René

    Extension

    Hello dear helpers,

… please. This in advance. I talked to J’s wife; an extension is needed. Again for 14 days – unless we take him into the inpatient program before then. Then I will inform you. Also on behalf of M. P. I thank you very much.

    J. is still in the intensive care unit and will probably stay there until at least Wednesday. Some improvements are there: he is more awake and could already be brought into a sitting position without circulatory danger. However, paralysis symptoms (polyneuropathy) are present, which are not uncommon after such a severe procedure. But whether they are now degrading? Currently, he can barely speak and cannot lift a cup.

You see, he still has a long way to go. So, if possible, stay tuned.
    René

A word about the wife: although she is still very much upright, she is also realistic as a person trained in orthodox medicine, and this also worries her. She also has Reiki herself and promised me to take good care of herself. All of our focus remains on J. and his recovery.

    Phone call with J.

Yesterday J. called me … with the help of his wife, who had dialed in and was probably holding the phone for him. But still!

He is still very weak and the journey still has an uncertain destination. He has asked that we continue to support him and, through the fog of his medication, has made an amazingly confident, clear and at the same time … “realistic” … (I can’t think of a nicer word) impression. He still remains in intensive care.

All the love and thank you!

    Final feedback

    Dear Helpers,

we are finalizing the support for J. today. You were now 2 x14 days on it … very, very many thanks! Should J. need surgery again and request emergency support from us, I will make a new call to all helpers and no longer to this group. It is possible that J will claim the inpatient program.

J.’s situation is such that some things are better, his recovery is actually good … His health was already affected in other ways and therefore the recovery is perhaps not as fast as in a more favorable situation.

    J. has been in the normal ward since Wednesday, he is sitting, taking his first steps and can talk. And he could drink and eat pudding. But now a swallowing problem has occurred. Whether this can be remedied therapeutically or requires surgery is not known at this time.

Once again and finally a big thank you to you helpers!

    Rehab

    Hello dear helpers,

although this case is closed for us, I would like to share the following feedback with you. J. is still weak and thus also short, but – read for yourself:

A new round is being ushered in! I left the hospital on Friday. Am weak in breathing and movement. Use a rollator. Tomorrow I will go to rehab. Standard 3 weeks. But I think there will be an extension.

In view of the fact that I was on the brink between life and death, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all Reiki donors.

    Love greetings
    J.
