Intestinal engorgement and cerebral edema

Period: 17.01.2015 - 30.03.2015
Protocol entries: 6
Area(s): Abdomen / Stomach / Intestine, Head / Brain / Coma

On Nov. 25. In 2014 our twins Y. and M. were born.

Now our little Y. is very sick. We had to take him to the hospital on New Year’s Day because he was screaming in pain and not drinking.

The following night, he required emergency surgery and was diagnosed with intestinal blockage. Another night later, he had to have another surgery and a piece of intestine removed. Two nights later, brain edema was added as a complication and we don’t know if he will have permanent damage from it.

He now has an artificial bowel outlet, which was originally not supposed to be put back for several weeks. His bowels move, but he digests food too poorly. He is therefore currently being fed mostly by infusion.

The doctors say it won’t work in the long run because he would get liver damage from the artificial feeding. They therefore want to reinsert the artificial bowel outlet much earlier than initially planned, perhaps as early as next week. This means another operation with new risks after such a short time.

We go to the hospital in Nuremberg every day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. We are allowed to be with him, to be there when he is cared for and to hold him in our arms. We think about him all the time and pray for him. I often lay hands on him.

My request now is: Could you support our Y. with distance Reiki and send him some positive thoughts? I am sure that this could help him.

All the best to you
G.

    Short info

    Dear Helpers,

some have responded very sympathetically. Thank you.

Just so you know, I talked to the parents about the little sister and mom needing help too. This is ensured by the clinic, prayer and environment i. M.. As a group, we stay focused on the little Y. I remain in close contact with Father also with regard to the whole family.

    All love.

    Stabilization

Y’s condition has stabilized. His bowel activity has improved.

He has been moved from the intensive care unit to a semi-intensive care unit. In a few weeks, if all goes well, the artificial bowel outlet should be reinserted. It is not yet clear if he will have permanent damage because of the cerebral edema. It may be a long time before we know. He still needs a lot of rest and sleep, but also has awake phases. So, starting today, I will be staying with him mostly as an inpatient so he won’t be alone as much when he wakes up.

We thank all the helpers very much for the Reiki. I am sure that it has already helped him to stabilize his condition.

However, the matter is not over yet. Please continue to support Y. with Reiki so that he can get well again. I don’t have internet at the hospital. I’ll get back to you when I get home.

    Warm regards
    G.

    Surgery on 03.02.

    Y. continues to be stable. We are very happy about this and after the turbulences that occurred in the first days of his illness, it is by no means a matter of course that he has recovered to this extent. However, since the section up to his artificial intestinal outlet is very short, he cannot adequately utilize the food he receives via the stomach. He is therefore now being fed completely by infusion again. Since this is not good for him in the long run, the artificial intestinal outlet will be moved back again next Tuesday (03.02.) in the hope that the entire intestine will then soon be working so well again that he can be fed via the stomach again. In addition, this surgery requires widening, or surgically making permeable, a constriction found in the lower portion of one’s bowel. After the surgery, it will take about 10 days to tell if everything went without complications.

My request now is: can the emergency chain for Yves be extended by 14 days?
My wife and I would be very happy about this.

In any case, we thank all the helpers again very much for everything they have already done for us.

    Very dear greetings
    G.

    News

    Dear Helpers,

I spent the last week as a companion with Y. in the hospital and just got home today. Now my wife is with him.

The week was turbulent. Y. was supposed to have surgery on Tuesday. Then the surgery was postponed for a day because the ICU was full. When Y’s blood was rechecked, it was found that his inflammation levels were greatly elevated due to an infection he had contracted through his central catheter. The catheter was pulled and he is now on antibiotics. In the meantime, the inflammation values have decreased again and he is now scheduled for surgery on Monday.

In terms of his general condition, Y. remains stable. Artificial feeding has also apparently not done any harm so far. We hope that the surgery will finally take place on Monday, that it will go well, that everything will heal well in the days after and that his bowels will then start to work well again.

We would like to thank again very much all those who have sent and will send Y. Reiki. Thanks also for the sympathy reported by René and for the fact that the emergency chain for Y. until 14.02. was extended.

I go back to the hospital tomorrow and stay with Y. for a few days until my wife relieves me again for a day or two. I’ll be back in touch by the end of next week at the latest, and I very much hope that I’ll be able to deliver the best possible news then.

    Warm regards
    G.

    Final feedback: Stable

    Hello dear helpers.

I spoke with the father of Y. on the phone and give you the feedback in his place.

First of all, the whole family is very, very grateful to each helper for sending Reiki and for the sympathy that many of you have expressed.

    Y. had the surgery this week and has also had one bowel movement, which everyone is very happy about. The little boy is stable at the moment. He has made great progress in the last 4 weeks. He will continue to be monitored because there may still be constrictions in the bowel that need to be expanded…only time will tell. The end is not yet in sight for the family. And of course, that demands all of them, mother, father and Y’s little twin sister.

What next? Some of you have already told me that they will continue to send in any case. This is certainly very helpful and warmly welcomed by the family.

As an official emergency, we no longer carry little Y. here. We may add it to the stationary program at a later date. If any of you would like to participate (but you must commit to sending Reiki at least once on 10-12 days within 14 days), please contact me directly.

For us, this case is now officially closed and I would also like to add my thanks.

    Home to mom

    From the mother:

“… Y. will be allowed to go home on Wednesday. I was able to persuade the doctors. A caregiver comes daily and quite a few other aftercare people. Y. is still on a central line and feeding tube.

Nevertheless, I am convinced that it will be better for all of us at home. We just hope he doesn’t get another infection and there won’t be any problems with the central venous catheter. It’s a dangerous business.

It will be months before the CVC can be pulled again and before Y. can be fed without a feeding tube. Until then, we have to go to the hospital again and again and possibly also to the colon center. But right now I am very much in joyful anticipation of Y.’s homecoming. After 3 months, our child finally comes home. He has so much to catch up on. We have so much to catch up on.

Thanks for everything and to all the helpers. Without you, we might not be where we are today. It also did me good to know that there are people out there who want to help Y. D A N K E !”
