The study was conducted over 12 weeks with a group of 30 elderly people living in nursing homes receiving Reiki treatments weekly, a placebo group under same cicumstances and a controll group. A total of 90 people. It is rare that randomized and controlled science is applied in Reiki studies. Thus it is all the more significant that the conclusion was reached that there was a significant decrease in depression score of the Reiki group while there was no change in the placebo- and the control group.
