7 years ago the “harbour for visitors of all Reiki-origins” was opened. The founder built on Reiki international, added Organisation and thus formed RIO. In a time and spirit of inclusivity it was an act of liberation. Now, RIO ceases their activity by end of 2017.
A hint of wistfulness arose amongst some of the participants of RIO when they heard of the closure of RIO. Not least because the RIO Emergency-chain has been of tremendous help for so many people. However, preceding the decision there was a survey which has shown beyond any doubt that RIO can no longer be carried in its existing form.
Over the years and with the emerging possibilities presented by the social media there were a number of RIO services which had become obsolete. Others, such as the listings and the RIO help continue to be popular. A wish of belonging (to an organisation) also continues. Thus, I am pleased that thanks to local organisations there are attractive solutions for the RIO participants.
Some people called to ask how I was doing with the closing. Well, thank you, I am really happy how things unfold. The new clarity is creating space and sheds light for the future.
