New Year’s Eve. Mischa and the neighbor’s boy are preparing Sushi in the kitchen. We’re about to go celebrate with his parents.
This morning I was lying in the bathtub and heard Mischa singing in the background. In a trash TV show, she had seen a stuffed animal unicorn that, when you press on its belly, says “I love you”. For Christmas, I had made a horn to wear on my forehead and mime a unicorn that way. This morning, when I brought her coffee in bed, she immediately pressed three times on my belly.
Beautiful snapshots at the end of the year. They symbolize my great happiness to live as I want to and am able to live.
Yes, things went bad, too. The calls from relatives with people in intensive care. Accidents, injuries, fear. And the desperate powerlessness when people stopped talking to each other. I don’t want to be in denial of that. And our Reiki work also suffered in a threatening way in the last two years.
Nevertheless, the moments of happiness and satisfaction prevail. A particularly great joy has been my work in favor of reconciliation. Although it is focused on the Reiki community, it is now bearing fruit elsewhere in our society, too. Tentatively, but noticeably.
Part of the reconciliation work is my talk show ‘RTalk’. In it I present Reiki personalities with different opinions, who with their humanity build bridges across the divide of many biases. Mischa’s and my global network, our long experience and reputation open the doors to my the guests of my show. The day before yesterday, I summarized the year in a short video asking for financial support.

January 1, 2022. Mischa is still sleeping. Soon I will make coffee and she will probably squeeze my belly again. Yesterday evening ended with the neighbors on our balcony. At the stroke of midnight, there was a bang right in front of our house and flares hissed off. The neighbor boy woke up, came over to us too. The steamers on the lake honked. Rockets shot up, all along the shore of the lake bay. The night sky was full of colors and glitter. It was as if from every corner everyone was shouting loudly, “Now more than ever!”
