Again and again it amazes me to see how children deal with Reiki. As a matter of course and at the same time full of curiosity.
Our own sons have long since fledged and are standing on their own in their lifes, which may explain why we are not allowed to welcome many children to the seminar at the moment. Nevertheless, children’s seminars take place every now and then and they are always a joy.
After the initiation we ask the adults what they felt, whether emotions came up or pictures appeared. With children we do not ask, but give them paper and coloured pencils and they draw.
Sometimes I see the children drawing their usual subjects. Their family, for example, or boys like to draw their comic heroes. In these pictures there is usually little answer to the question what Reiki and the initiation means for them. All the more I am happy when a child gets involved and paints spontaneously and without “pressure to perform”. This is how this drawing came about after the first, the heart initiation.
