Long course after arm fracture

Period: 17.02.2016 - 25.03.2016
Protocol entries: 3
Area(s): Accidents / injuries, Heart, Lungs, Operation

M. fell at the end of January and had to be hospitalized with a broken left upper arm. Surgery would have been necessary, but due to M’s age, it was not performed. From the hospital, she was transferred to her husband’s nursing home, where she is totally dependent on care. She still has pain in her arm despite painkillers, feels discouraged, weak and cold.

This case has a history; see“left upper arm fracture +stomach problems“.

    General condition improved

    The son of M. writes:
I visited my parents yesterday and I had the impression that the shock of what I experienced is over with my parents.
My mother is also a bit “brisker” on her feet again and her complexion is fresher. Her general condition has improved ! However, she still wears her left arm in a sling. Both of them are still in a retirement home and we are in the process of remodeling my parents’ house to make it senior- and nursing-friendly so that they can return to their familiar environment in a few weeks.

    Water on lungs, weak heart

After M. had to go to the hospital again because of water on the lungs, her son writes on 03/13:

I had an unhappy, weak, helpless and tired impression of her. Doctors say that her heart is weak and large.
I visited her in the hospital yesterday and Mom answered my question, “Where is your trust in God?” by saying, “I think the good Lord has abandoned me.” I have seen them very down. Tired, lack of appetite. She can’t sleep through the night in the hospital.

The stationary program is extended, we continue to broadcast until 03/25/16!!!

    Final feedback

“She is actually unchanged, so she says of herself. She is very weak, despondent. She has a slightly fresher complexion.”
