On 20th August a emergeny call reached us. E.S. was in hospital with a stroke. With the “emergency chain” we immediately mobilised 30 helpers to ensure that the patient received around-the-clock Reiki support over a fortnight. Free of charge and efficient. Thereafter E.S. requested to be taken into the “stationary program”. There he is getting into the care of 7 helpers who each committed to 10-12 absentee treatments within 14 days. This is a fee-based service.
E.S. describes his situation: “Stroke with atrial fibrillation. Result: ataxia right, leg and arm, no voice, paralysation of vocal cords right, difficulties in swallowing, double vision, disturbed balance (right twist). 15 days acute hospital, treatment in clinic by physio-, logo-, ergo-therapists, first wheel chair, then whelled walker.”
His feedback to the helpers: “…no more walker, no double vision and all other symptoms are considerably better. Still imbalance and somewhat reduced use of voice.”
Then he was transferred to the rehab clinic and we received following feedback: “…I thank you for your Reiki help and support in the healing process – my voice is much better, my balance, too and I have the feeling I am carried by many friendly hand and thoughts. A little work still needs to be done, particularly with the sense of balance but I am confident.” We stay with it.
On 13th October E.S. wrote: “Yesterday I was driving on my own for the first time over a long distance. I feel safe and confident in judging difficult situations and the reaction required. I believe that your help has helped me getting well and that it went so fast. Many thanks again to you and your group.”
