As a side product of the otherwise astonishing unfolding of Reiki in only 35 years, dissonances occurred between some of the Reiki styles and their representatives. Witnesses of the time are still alive today. Pardon, forgiving, reconciliation … central themes of a video-documentation.

Mrs Hawayo Takata is the key person and solely responsible for the global development of Reiki. She died in 1980. In the following years disharmonious sounds were catalysed amongst some of her 22 successors and the people following them.

Phyllis Lei Furumoto is the grand-daughter of Takata and is seen by many as her successor and as lineage bearer.

René Vögtli believes that a harmonising should be endeavoured today with the help of those involved in the 80s and 90s. So that following Reiki-generations can progress into the future free of echoing discord.

For this purpose he was able to convince Mrs Furumoto to state her position in a video-interview. In September first filming took place in Berlin and coming February there will be further shooting in the USA. Release of the film is planned in summer 2016.

Currently René is on a secluded island and is in in contact with representatives of most different Reiki-styles all over the world. This and the financing by sponsors of diverse (Reiki-)origins warrant the necessary independence so as to collect as complete a range of questions as possible for Mrs Furumoto.
