Island without harbor, hardly any fresh water, barren. Actually a rock in the Aegean Sea. Once a source of wine for Greek gods - the name testifies to that as well as the songs in which the worship of Dionysos lives on still today. Over 2000 years, the peaceful islanders endured martial Persians, predatory pirates and Italian occupation during World War II. Excavations bring to light treasures from the Neolithic period (6400-3200 BC).

In poetic language, the booklet tells the story of Sikinos to the present day while the mystery of the island flashes through the lines. The reader can sense the intimacy and the respect the author holds for this island in the heart of the Cyclades.

Author
Petros K. Fronistas is a son of the island, who had to go to Athens early to further education. He made a career there at the National Bank. Every year he returned to the island, where he spends most of his time in pension today. He grows wine and regularly makes music with the local priest on village festivals. His first work, born from the love for the island, was published in Greek in 2012 and translated with great care to preserve the poetry of the original language as much as possible.

Relevance to Reiki
Since 1993 Mischa and René Vögtli have regularly been teaching Reiki students from all over the world on the island. Spontaneously on site or planned long in advance. For local participants, the seminar is held in Greek with translation help. This has also resulted in a Greek Reiki master.
